What ProDataAI Lens does on UK sites
- Site and perimeter protection: intrusion after hours, fence climbing, loitering at back doors and gates.
- Construction sites: plant, tool and material theft at night, vehicles at the site entrance.
- Fire and smoke early warning: an extra early warning on top of your fire alarm system.
- Safety gear: hard hats and hi-vis vests, entry into danger zones.
- Occupancy and crowding: counts, limits and queues at venues, stations and buildings.
- Tailgating: a second person following through a secured door.
- Search: find the moment in plain English across all cameras.
How it works with your existing CCTV
ProDataAI Lens reads standard IP cameras and network video recorders, so most sites need no new cameras. A small agent on site sends video over one outbound, encrypted connection; no ports are opened. It runs in an EU cloud environment, in your own cloud or fully on your premises in the UK.
The first cameras usually go live within two to four weeks. In the pilot we agree up front which events must be caught and how many false alarms are acceptable, and you see the results on your own cameras before you decide to roll out. Your installer or IT team handles the work on site; we do the setup remotely.
UK GDPR, the ICO and where your data goes
The UK recognises the EEA as adequate for data protection, so data from UK sites can be processed in an EU cloud without extra transfer safeguards; on premises, nothing leaves your site. ProDataAI Lens stores incident data only, for a retention period you set, and does not recognise faces or identify people. We help your data protection officer with the DPIA, signage and documentation.
Support comes from our team in Germany and, only with your consent, from our experienced team outside the UK and EU, with the transfer safeguards UK GDPR requires. Support staff work through secured machines and do not download footage.
Read our guide to CCTV, UK GDPR and the ICO.
Alerts for your team, your keyholders or your security provider
Alerts go by email, text message or messenger to the people you name: your own security team, keyholders on call or your security provider. If you have your own IT or security team, they can run first-line support and administration while we look after the platform.
A direct connection to an alarm receiving centre depends on its systems, so we check it for your site. ProDataAI Lens is not certified to BS 8418; where a police response depends on a BS 8418 system, it adds to that system rather than replacing it.
Councils and public bodies
Councils can add analytics to existing town centre, estate and building CCTV where the cameras provide standard streams. Local authorities in England and Wales must have regard to the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice, and a DPIA is expected before analytics go live. ProDataAI Lens is event-based: no facial recognition, no tracking of individuals, no demographics. We support your team with the documentation and work through your procurement process.
Talk to us
Kamlesh Kshirsagar, our founder, takes UK enquiries himself, in English, with calls in UK business hours. Call +49 172 7366039, write to ai@prodata.ai or book a demo; the demo runs on a live system, so you see real alerts before any camera of yours is connected.
Frequently asked questions
Can a German company serve UK customers?
Yes. ProDataAI Lens is set up and supported remotely, contracts are in English, and the platform runs in the EU, in your own cloud or on your premises. On site, we work with your installer or IT team.
Is processing in an EU cloud allowed under UK GDPR?
Yes. The UK recognises the EEA as adequate, so personal data can go from the UK to the EU without extra transfer safeguards. Fully on premises is also possible.
Do we need new cameras?
Not for most sites. ProDataAI Lens reads the standard IP cameras and recorders you already have. In the pilot we check which cameras give reliable alerts.
Can councils use ProDataAI Lens?
Yes, with a DPIA, signage and regard to the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice. We support the documentation and work through your procurement process.
