We take data protection seriously. This website is designed with privacy in mind:

  • - Web analytics can be switched off from any page, in one click
  • - No advertising networks or retargeting pixels
  • - No user accounts or login functionality
  • - Personal data is only collected when you actively contact us
  • - The entire site is usable whether analytics is on or off

The only data processing that occurs is described in detail below.

3. Hosting & Server Logs

This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. When you visit any page, your browser automatically transmits the following data to our server:

  • - IP address (anonymised after 7 days)
  • - Date and time of the request
  • - URL requested
  • - Browser type and version
  • - Referring URL

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - legitimate interest in ensuring website security and stability.

Server log data is not combined with other data sources and is deleted after 30 days.

4. Contact Form & Email

When you submit the contact form or send us an email, we collect the data you provide - typically your name, email address, company, and message content.

This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties, used for marketing, or added to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR - processing necessary to respond to a pre-contractual enquiry; or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - legitimate interest in responding to business communications.

Retention: Contact enquiries are retained for up to 3 years for business correspondence purposes, unless you request earlier deletion.

Form processor: If the contact form uses Formspree (formspree.io) to route submissions, your data is processed by Formspree Inc. under their privacy policy. We have entered into a data processing agreement with Formspree.

5. Google Fonts

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers and your IP address is transmitted to Google.

Google may transfer this data to servers in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - legitimate interest in presenting a professionally designed website.

For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Tailwind CSS CDN

This website uses Tailwind CSS loaded via CDN (cdn.tailwindcss.com), provided by Tailwind Labs Inc. When a page loads, your browser connects to their CDN servers and your IP address is transmitted.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - legitimate interest in website functionality and performance.

7. Browser Storage (localStorage)

This website stores your language preference (English or German) in your browser's localStorage under the key pdai-lang. This data remains on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

localStorage is not a cookie and does not require consent under ePrivacy rules, as it stores no personal data and serves only to remember your UI preference.

Your colour-scheme choice (pdai-theme) and your cookie decision (pdai-consent) are stored the same way. These are strictly necessary to honour the preferences you have set and are covered by §25(2) TDDDG.

You can clear all of this at any time via your browser settings.

8. Web Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to understand which pages of this site are useful to visitors.

Analytics is active by default and you can switch it off at any time. A notice on your first visit explains this and offers a one-click opt-out. Switching it off stops all further data collection immediately and deletes the analytics cookies already set. Doing so has no effect on any content or function of the site.

While analytics is active, the following applies:

  • - Cookies beginning _ga are set in your browser to recognise returning visits
  • - Pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser and referring page are processed
  • - IP anonymisation is enabled, so your IP address is truncated before storage
  • - Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR - our legitimate interest in understanding how this website is used so we can improve it. You may object to this processing at any time, with effect for the future, using the opt-out described below.

How to opt out: use the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page to open the settings and switch analytics off. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key pdai-consent. Clearing your browser data resets it and you will be asked again.

Google's own privacy information is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
