Why finding footage takes so long

Most recordings are only opened after something has gone wrong: a damaged trailer, a disputed delivery, a missing pallet, a door found open in the morning. By then the question is precise, but the recorder only knows cameras and times, so someone scrolls through hours of video from several cameras to find the moment.

Fixed detection rules do not help either when the question is one nobody planned for.

Ask a question, get the clips

ProDataAI Lens understands plain language. You type what you are looking for, and it searches everything it has detected across your cameras and shows the matching clips, sorted by camera, zone and time. Some examples:

  • “White van at gate 2 after 10 pm”
  • “Person in a red jacket near the store room”
  • “Truck at loading bay 4 between 6 and 8 am”
  • “Crowd at the main entrance this morning”

Questions nobody planned for still get answered: you do not need a rule for a red jacket before you can search for one.

Where search helps most

  • Disputed deliveries and damage: when did the vehicle arrive and leave, and what happened at the bay.
  • Theft and break-ins: when someone entered the area, from which side, and which cameras saw them.
  • Safety incidents: what happened just before a near miss in a forklift lane.
  • Lost items and open doors: who was last at the door before it was found open, as a clip you can hand on.

Searching by description, not by identity

You search by description, for example a red jacket or a white van. ProDataAI Lens does not recognise faces and does not identify who someone is. Search covers incident data, which is kept for the retention period you set. Decide in advance who on your team may search, and record it in your works agreement where one is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does search work in German?

The interface is available in German. Search questions currently work in English; German search is being added.

Does it search the whole recording on our recorder?

It searches everything ProDataAI Lens has detected on the connected cameras, for the retention period you set. Your recorder keeps its own recording as before.

Can we export a clip for the police or an insurer?

You can view and save the matching clips. Who may export footage, and to whom it may be passed on, belongs in your internal rules for video.
