What facility and security teams ask for

Campuses and public buildings are open to many people by design. Teams need to know when entrances get crowded, when a room exceeds its limit, when someone enters a lab or plant room after hours, and they need to find the moment fast after an incident.

Use cases on a campus

Incident search works across all buildings, by camera, zone and time.

Publicly accessible spaces need extra care

Where cameras watch publicly accessible areas systematically, a data protection impact assessment is usually required, signage must be clear, and the purpose and retention must be documented. For public bodies, national and state law adds its own rules; in the UK, local authorities must also have regard to the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice (see ProDataAI Lens for UK businesses and councils). ProDataAI Lens does not recognise faces, does not identify people and does not analyse emotions, which keeps it clear of the practices the EU AI Act prohibits or treats as high-risk.

See GDPR, works council and the EU AI Act and the DPIA checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Can public bodies use ProDataAI Lens?

Public bodies have their own legal bases for video surveillance in national and state law, so the assessment differs from a private company. We support your data protection officer with the documentation.

Can it run on our own servers?

Yes. ProDataAI Lens runs in an EU cloud environment, in your own cloud or fully on your premises.

Does it identify students or visitors?

No. ProDataAI Lens detects events, objects and situations, never who someone is.
