What plants ask for most

In manufacturing, the questions come from three directions at once: health and safety wants fewer accidents, plant security wants a protected site at night, and management wants both without more staff.

Use cases in manufacturing

Agreed with the works council before go-live

In a plant, cameras see employees, so the works council has a say (§ 87 BetrVG in Germany). ProDataAI Lens reports events and does not identify people: no facial recognition, no tracking of individuals, no productivity scores. We document the configuration for your works agreement and provide a template for it in our data protection and security pack.

From our experience

Our team has put computer vision into production on a steel finishing line. What decides success on the shop floor is rarely the model: it is camera positions, lighting, agreed purposes and the people who act on the alerts.

IT review and the production network

A small agent on site reads your existing IP cameras and recorders and sends video over one outbound, encrypted connection: no open ports, no VPN, no firewall changes, nothing changes on cameras or recorders. Where nothing may leave the plant network, ProDataAI Lens runs fully on premises.

Frequently asked questions

Can ProDataAI Lens do quality inspection on the line?

ProDataAI Lens is built for security, safety and operations on site cameras. Visual quality inspection on the production line is a different task with its own cameras and models; we build that as a project, see our visual inspection case study.

Which cameras are needed?

Standard IP cameras and network video recorders already installed. ProDataAI Lens reads the lower-resolution substream, which keeps the load on recorder and network low.

How long does it take to start?

The first cameras usually go live within two to four weeks; a full rollout across sites typically takes up to a quarter.
