Four setups compared
| EU cloud | Your own cloud | Hybrid | On premises | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Where analysis runs | In an EU cloud environment | In your cloud account | Detection on site; search and reports in the cloud | Fully on site |
| What leaves the site | Video over one encrypted connection | Video to your cloud | Detected events, for search and reports | Nothing |
| Hardware on site | A small agent on a computer | A small agent on a computer | A GPU server | A GPU server, the full platform on your hardware |
| If the connection drops | Analysis resumes when it is back; the recorder keeps recording | As EU cloud | Detection continues | Not affected |
| Good for | Most sites; fastest start | Companies with their own cloud rules | Many cameras, limited bandwidth, detection that must not pause | Critical sites, no outside connection allowed |
What your IT team will ask
- Network: one outbound, encrypted connection from a small agent on site: no open ports, no VPN, no firewall changes.
- Cameras and recorder: nothing changes on them. ProDataAI Lens reads the lower-resolution substream the recorder already provides, which keeps load low.
- Access: by role, every access logged. Your own staff can administer cameras, zones, use cases and recipients; our support handles maintenance and updates.
- Data: only incident data is stored, for as long as you decide. Full recordings stay on your recorder.
How to choose
Start with the strictest rule that applies to the site. If video may not leave the site, it is on premises. If detection must never pause, hybrid or on premises. Otherwise the EU cloud is the fastest start, and you can move a critical site to another setup later.
Frequently asked questions
Can different sites use different setups?
Yes. A critical site can run on premises while other sites use the EU cloud.
Where are support engineers based?
Mostly in the EU. They always work through secured machines in the EU and cannot download your footage. The details are in the data processing agreement.
